The proper way to issue punishments.
(purple text is part of a command example, red text means something very important)

Reasons for punishment include:

Griefing in CueballCraft or Prospit Creative.
ANY kind of griefing on CueballCraft or Creative servers is prohibited; This includes small griefs, nature griefing, vulgar or offensive builds, lava or water buckets in random places etc. It doesn’t matter if the place was claimed or not. Griefing should usually deserve a temp ban of 1 to 2 days depending on severity using command in this way
/tempban <username> 1d Griefing
If the offenses continue from this user or his/her IP, you should issue a permanent ban in this way
/ban <username> Griefing
If the player is online at the time of the griefing, then a /kick is more appropriate:
/kick <player> Griefing is not allowed
But if the player keeps griefing after the /kick, follow the method explained 5 lines above

Please remember that griefing in the Factions server is allowed to some extent. Nature-griefing on Factions is not though and should follow the same method above.

Hacking (does not apply to Factions).
Finding a player using hacked client features in any game-type other than Factions on our servers is a good reason for banning the player. Our advanced anti cheating system usually can detect a wide range of hacks, and automatically issue notices to the hackers or disconnects them. We can also easily detect if a player is using a hacked client feature the server missed simply by close observation (but doing our best to leave him/her to feel unbothered). Many features are not always noticeable.

Hacking in the Factions wilderness areas is allowed, so if they are just hacking in the wild, leave them be!
But be watchful of hacks like AutoMine, Nuker or perhaps some strange behavior (like nazi symbol generators); Hacks such as these are considered malicious to the server and are not allowed anywhere, even in wilderness. Give the player a warning and make sure they understand. Talking to them about the consequences after the warning is advisable.
/warn <username> <reason>
If the warning is ignored, use
/kick <player> Hacking
If still ignored after the kick, you should do a permanent ban
/ban <username> Hacking in minigames

Using exploits.
Any type of exploit or bug in PvP or minigames should be reported if it is serious. Even though there are usually numerous "harmless" exploits, more serious gameplay-breaking exploits that allow players to get an unfair advantage (such as PvPing in a location that should be Safezone, or glitching into a parkour's end) are not to be abused. If you catch a player doing a major exploit, report it to a higher staff and warn the player.
/warn <username> <reason>
If the player gets caught doing it more than three times, you should ban them (permanent ban).
/ban <username> Exploiting bugs

Duplicators.
Players who construct duplication machines or use any exploit to duplicate items must be banned for 14 days. (permanent ban if it happens on CueballCraft). Their rank will also be removed. Their buildings, items and chests will be wiped as well. Always report these incidents on the forums with evidence. More info on how this is handled in the following thread: Duplicating items policy
/tempban <player> 14d Duplicating items

Creative Issues.
Players who construct lag machines or make anything that lags other people's framerate should be banned for 30 days. It might be difficult to judge this. If in doubt, ask higher staff. The object must also be removed. It is suggested that you report such an incident on the forums.
/tempban <player> 30d Lag machine

Building near Spawn (CueballCraft).
Building near spawn is stupid. It shows new players that the server is a piece of fat nasty trash. It's kind of hard to catch them in the act of building like that, so after using WorldEdit //regen to erase the build, issue a warning to the player
/warn <player> Your build has been removed. Don't build near the spawn

Building near Spawn and NSFW builds (Prospit Creative).
Players are allowed to create buildings near Spawn in the Creative server, if they aren't just a mess of useless things that will never be used. "Near Spawn" is usually considered 600 blocks North, South, East, West and diagonal directions around the outer walls of the Spawn (the Quartz paths are an indicator). If players are lucky enough to find a spot near Spawn, whether it be Flatworld-spawn or Wild-spawn, they must keep it tidy and also ensure that it is SFW (safe for work). Nazi symbolism and Catalan pro-independence emblems also considered against these rules. If you happen find something that is NSFW (not safe for work), even if it is not near Spawn, it is still breaking the rules in this section.
If you find something that is breaking these rules, you may remove it if you are Admin or Co-Owner. Moderators may not unclaim, so please report these cases to higher staff.
NOTE: Builds are removed automatically on /unclaim !
/unclaim (Make sure that you are standing in the claim that you want to remove!)
/warn <player> Your build has been removed. Don't build near the spawn
If repeat offender of making builds that are not safe for work, tempban for 7 days.
/tempban <player> 7d Repeated NSFW Builds

Trappers and Scammers.
Home-trapping on CueballCraft is not allowed. Scamming is not allowed on the CueballCraft, or Factions server either. If this happens, it's always a great deed to take the items away from the rule-breaker, and give them back to the victim. Also issue the rule-breaker a warning (you know how so I won't repeat how the commands work), and if the trapping or scamming continues more than 3 times, it's a permanent ban.

"1337 Hackers".
DDoS or other kinds of attacks that cause others' gaming experience to be affected are well-known and should immediately be mitigated by our automatic protection systems. Spambot incidents like these are dealt with automatically and go completely unnoticed. When Spambots attack the server (cracked servers are more susceptible to this), a computer program is used to create fake players (using a series of proxies) that join and leave the server quickly enough to cause the server to crash and become temporarily unavailable. Such a situation is rarely possible on SkaiaCraft, but people who claim that they might start such attacks should be IP banned. The command for this is
/banip <username>
The would-be attacker is then off the server, so he can't cause other players to worry due to his yammering.

Additionally, If you see someone trying to log in as you, you should also /banip <type the IP address here>. (if you don’t have permission for /banip, tell a higher staff member to ban it for you). It is important to have a strong password which contains at least 8 characters with at least 1 lowercase, 1 uppercase, 1 number, and 1 special character (for example: @, #, ç, ñ, &…) to minimize the chances of being hacked.

Bullying or profanity.
It should be taken seriously and muted. /tempmute should almost always be used instead of a permanent /mute because no one likes to be muted forever. There is a swear filter on all servers, and players are not allowed to bypass it. Should they say these bad words, you should issue them a warning in this way:
First warn
/warn <username> <reason>
If the warning is ignored, do the tempmute
/tempmute <username> <time> <reason>
(for instance) /tempmute d0ct0rJack 5m Shut Up

Staff may read private messages. Bad words in a private message is allowed, if it is allowed by the person receiving the message. If the receiver asks the other to stop, and the one who swears persists, they should be warned
/warn <username> Watch your language
If the behavior continues, they will be kicked
/kick <player> Profanity in PM
If it still continues, they will be banned. Swearing in private chat must not be used to insult another player. Period. If this happens, the punishment line goes straight to a kick, and then a ban if it happens occurs once more.
Keep in mind SkaiaCraft is a server for all ages, and thus should be kept safe for children.

Beggers.
Begging for OP, ranks, permissions or items that would otherwise be earned by just playing the game is not allowed. A player asking when/if their staff application will be checked/accepted, is not allowed.
If either of the above happens a second time, the player will be kicked. If it happens a third time, they will be temporarily banned for 1 day, and their application will be suspended. and you should follow this procedure
First warn
/warn <username> <reason>
If the warning is ignored, do the tempmute
/tempmute <username> <time> <reason>

There is also a command, /tempmuteip if you need to get fancy.

Advertisers.
Advertising other servers is strictly forbidden. We have an automatic block for typing web links into the chat, but if a player still advertises another server somehow, you should directly /ban him
/ban <player> Advertising
If, on the contrary, the player is advertising in private messages, the /kick should be used first.
/kick <player> Advertising
Keep in mind that advertising using /tell @a (message) counts as advertising in public and must follow the same method explained 5 lines above.

Bullying players / Disrespecting staff.
This can be difficult to judge. Give them a /warn first.
/warn <player> Disrespecting staff.
If they keep disrespecting the staff or the server, you should issue a /tempmute for 1 hour. If you are the one being disrespected, try to keep your emotions in check and make a fair judgement as to when a /tempmute is needed
/tempmute <player> 1h Disrespecting staff
Should they persist, a /tempban for 1 day is called for. (if insulting the server it’s a permanent /ban)
/tempban <player> 1d Disrespecting staff
or
/ban <player> Non-constructive criticism
Staff to player disrespect is and will never be tolerated under any circumstances and you may be demoted for that.

Chat trolls.
These are chat griefers whose objectives are to be obnoxious and grab attention. The best way to deal with them is by doing a /softmute <player>. They can keep chatting but they won’t know that they are muted. Because they will still think that they have trolled effectively, they aren’t likely to escalate, and they will leave on their own. It’s not recommended to say in public that someone is softmuted because it defeats its purpose. To undo the action, simply do /softmute <player> again.

Ban evasions.
It is not allowed for players to evade their ban. You should IP-ban them if you see someone evading his ban.

I'm from PlanetMinecraft give me OP.
It is extremely forbidden to give them OP. They will ask for OP for the sole purpose to grief the server (they will say that they need to review the server, or that they want to test some things, or something similar). The best way to deal with them is by doing a /softmute so everyone will ignore them so they'll shut up (and you should ignore them as well).

There are also potential bans that should NOT happen.
Staff should always keep their heads, and be completely cool under any and all circumstances. If a guest pisses you off, do not abuse your power. It may lead to termination of your position. Applied staff should always follow this rule because we need them for their assistance, donated staff usually have more leniency and are allowed more space because we need them for their funds. Do not kick or ban someone just for fun, as it makes the staff look really unprofessional, and it may be annoying. If you or any other staff is found to possibly ban, kick or mute without a reason stated in the above text of this thread, it probably should not have been done and should be discussed in its own thread here.

Always write a reason.
Our shtick is to make naughty people feel like we actually care about their side of the story instead of just banning them instantly and forever like most servers do. So be sure to always add a reason when banning, tempBanning, kicking, muting or tempMuting.

Please make sure the reason is well-written! When a banned player attempts to join, he/she will see client-side the following:

Final Notes.

/minecraft:pardon command is used for unbanning players who have been auto-banned for spam on CueballCraft or Prospit Creative. When such an Automatic Spam-Ban happens, /unban does not work, so be sure to keep this in mind when reading appeals.

Updated and added a new policy: "Using exploits".

Added extra paragraph under "Bullying or profanity", and added extra information under "Beggers" about people asking for their app to be accepted (yeah don't do that).
